Animal Health Associates has been serving the community of Central Michigan since 1989. Drs. Alex Imlay and Larry Judge opened our first office in an old feed store on M20. The clinic consisted only of two small exam rooms, a surgery room, and a kennel room. In the spring of 1992 AHA built a new office at our current location on Pickard Road. The original building had a reception area, radiology room, lab area, two large exam rooms, kennel room and surgery room. In 2000 an addition was built that provided an isolation ward, larger kennel room, surgery suite, treatment area, doctors office and large animal stocks in the garage. AHA expanded to a three full-time doctor practice in 2005. These changes over the last 20 years have allowed Animal Health Associates to continue to offer quality veterinary medicine in a compassionate and energetic atmosphere. To promote continued lifelong learning and education I grew up on a small dairy farm and learned early that your family and animals were the most important elements in your world. As the oldest child in my family, my jobs included assisting our local veterinarian (Dail Patterson, DVM) when he came to the farm. I learned first hand what an asset a good veterinarian would be for the success of any farm. I met my wife, Cathy, in 1981 and we were married in 1983 - I started veterinary school two days later. Cathy's support has been critical to the success of Animal Health Associates. At AHA I have enjoyed long hours with my wife and have helped my children (Jennifer and Peter) grow into young adults. My other important friends include: Tucker the Brittany Spaniel, Madison the cat, and our horses Lady, Leo, Ham and Star.
