Community Cat Coalition of Edmond Cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life! Pets at Our Rescue Group: Our mission is to effect change in the way community cats are viewed and treated in the City of Edmond. Our primary focus is to humanely and non-lethally reduce the numbers of free-roaming community cats in the City of Edmond via an aggressive Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program.
TNR is the most effective long-term approach to reducing the feral cat population in the City of Edmond. TNR involves humanely trapping, spaying/neutering, vaccinating, marking for identification, and then returning of feral cats to the location from which they were trapped so that they may live out their lives. TNR respects feral cats' right to live, and their niche in the community, without adding to the homeless cat population. TNR stabilizes the feral cat population and, over time, reduces it while substantially reducing or eliminating nuisance behaviors. Through the process of TNR, we regularly encounter friendly, unowned, stray cats as well as young kittens that can be socialized and put into adoption when room in foster homes is available.
