Those that share their home with Siberian Huskies and Husky mixes often describe them as dogs that express their affection for their family members by being gentle, loving, and happy. Huskies do not make good watch dogs as they are extremely playful and love everyone. They are quite patient and gentle with children and prefer to be part of a pack. So they do well in multi dog homes. As a member of a working breed your Husky may become bored easily and require not only exercise but also interaction with its people or its canine companions. Their thick coat normally sheds heavily twice each year with the change of seasons. But if your Husky lives in a warm climate it is likely to shed heavily all year round. Regular brushing is essential for this breed. A brief walk for exercise is not enough.

Your Siberian Husky would prefer a long jog or the ability to run freely in a safe area. Remember that these are cold climate dogs and should not be exercised to excess in warm weather. Home of AKC registered Siberian Huskies, located in Western Washington halfway between Seattle and Portland.The purpose of this site is to showcase our dogs while hopefully answering questions and sharing breed information with current or potential Siberian Husky owners. All underlined words are links, some will lead you outside our website.We both grew up with dogs and Andrea showed dogs in 4-H, in 1999 we started showing our Siberian Huskies.  Our kennel name came from combining the names of our first two show Siberians Pokie, Sedona's Hocus Pocus, and our first champion Kuder, Ch. Sedona's Duke of Hazard AOM CGC.  Our goal is to continue learning about this wonderful breed while sharing with others.  Here at Poku our dogs are pets and loved family members first and show dogs second.  We mainly compete in conformation events but also work with our dogs in basic level obedience/rally, run them in harness recreationally, and backpack....as time permits.  When we have an occasional litter we strive to produce healthy puppies with correct temperaments that conform to the breed standard.
