Pflueger is owned by Shakespear and I wanted to know if their product was superior. Well, the Pflueger Criterion is well worth the additional (small) expense. I imagine the upper line of Pflueger reels are truly excellent, but when you can get quality at a lesser price that's my ticket. And if I get excited and throw the whole thing in the lake I'm not so sad. In fact, saw that happen not long ago. Anyway, Pflueger Criterion was beyond my expectation. But I'm not giving up my Shakespear Axion any time soon.
