Luna said around the end of June, the floors started coming up making it so difficult to move around her house, she no longer could get into her kitchen. "You know, the floors are really like mountains, and they have to push me in an electric wheelchair which you're not suppose to need anybody to push you. My dad's looked at it and he thinks maybe they mixed the glue with water or something like that to make it stretch, but this is what's happened," she said. Luna paid about $5,100 in advance through a bank loan for the remodeling floor project. KWTX contacted the company and spoke with a regional manager who said the Empire Today contractor believed the home has a moisture problem. "Something is going on in the home and what we had told them is that we're getting very, very high moisture ratings and that they needed to address the moisture issues because if we were to install or reinstall the product again the same thing is going to happen," Tina Bennett said.

Luna told the contractor that her home does not have any leaks and had her home inspected by a third-party before the remodeling and to go along with the project. "I talked to other people who could have done it cheaper but seeing their name on the TV, I'm thinking wow, you know, this is a good company, you know. Professional, it says Better Business Bureau on the thing, so I don't know," she said. Luna filed a consumer complaint with the BBB. After KWTX contacted Empire Today, the money was refunded to Luna however, the problem still exists. She said fixing her problem and remodeling it could double in price.
