She's enjoying life with her new owner, who is an avid fan of road-tripping in her camper. Poppy is loving this new, active life! Here she is bonding with her kitty-cat friend. Kenzee hit the jackpot with her new owners as well. Frequent hikes and trips to the coast? Seattle Golden Retriever Rescue added 2 new photos.Let's round out the night with a couple of PUP-dates! First, Watson is doing great. As you can see he is still cautiously optimistic about the possibility of turning the cat into a friend. His digestive issues have stabilized and he's having a blast at puppy camp 3 times per week. And Cooper & Sammi are settling in very nicely into their new home. Here you see them playing tug of war in their very spacious back yard! Hope you love seeing these happy endings as much as we do.Seattle Golden Retriever RescueSad news to report today from Golden Retriever Headquarters.
Remember Presley, the senior Golden Retriever who was surrendered by her owner to a shelter in Caldwell, Idaho a couple of weeks ago (reason for surrender: dog is too fat)? The shelter contacted us as the poor Golden was terrified at the shelter, and we put the word out about her plight. So many of you generously stepped up to offer to help. Robert and his wife Louise in Eastern Washington were kind enough to d...rive six hours one-way to bail her out of the shelter (and then overnight at a hotel and another six hours back home). They put all of their focus into getting Presley well. Presley rebounded quickly at their house and was on the upswing. Unfortunately after having her for only 28 days, they then learned that Presley was in advanced stages of cancer in multiple organs. Nothing could be done for her, so they had to say goodbye. To share a quote from Robert: "If we knew that she had cancer upfront, we will would have still rescued her. She was a great Golden and we will miss her terribly."
Robert and Louise, you are angels. Thank you so much for rescuing this girl and for making her last month one of joy and happiness. And thanks to all of you in this little community for supporting our efforts to rescue Goldens like Presley, who need it the most. Seattle Golden Retriever RescueSuccess story time - here's Riley the golden with his new owner and also a newly made friend ! He has settled into his new home and is loving life with his new family.Seattle Golden Retriever RescueA huge "thank you" to some fans of this page who have made substantial donations lately. Joe and Paul, Pablo and Sonia - your generosity is deeply appreciated! Your donations allow us to do what we do - rescue and rehome Goldens - some with major health issues. We are deeply appreciative!Seattle Golden Retriever RescueIs a Golden Retriever the right dog for you? I can’t emphasize this enough… a Golden Retriever is a sporting breed, and they need a daily dose of vigorous exercise. A fenced in yard means nothing if you expect that your Golden will exercise himself in it.
These spirited dogs have a great sense of humor and love to retrieve, play, chase, and chew. They need exercise to expend all that sporting energy, or they will entertain themselves in typical canine fashion. Having a fenced yard isn’t enough - your Golden will need daily vigorous exercise (think swimming, hiking, running/retrieving off leash, etc). Does this sound like your current lifestyle? If not, you may want to take a look at a different breed. They won’t exercise without YOU!Ebay Puppies For Sale In San JoseCan you handle hair, hair, hair everywhere? Mini Dachshund Puppies For Sale In New JerseyMany Golden Retrievers have what's called a double coat, which means that a soft downy undercoat to insulate from the cold and heat and a longer outer coat of guard hairs. Moving Company Graz
These hairy critters shed their downy undercoat in huge quantities every spring and drop dog hair all over the house all year long. The resulting clouds of dog down all over the house can make you tear out your hair as well. Brushing will help keep that nuisance dog hair to a minimum. Daily brushing is best — twice weekly is a must. If you use a professional groomer, expect to pay $60 to 85 per grooming session. Help cheer us up by posting a pic in comments of your Golden pal!Seattle Golden Retriever Rescue added a new photo.Seattle Golden Retriever RescueWe are all fans of Golden Retrievers. But let’s be honest - this breed isn’t for everyone! We’ve been volunteering for Golden Retriever Rescue for 15 years. The reasons we have most frequently heard when someone gives up their Golden: 1. I had no idea they needed so much exercise 2. I wasn’t expecting my Golden to be so high-energy 3.
I don’t have time for my young kids and also a dog It’s important that we don’t sugarcoat it - this breed isn’t for everyone! Think about your lifestyle before getting a Golden.Seattle Golden Retriever Rescue added a new photo.Seattle Golden Retriever Rescue shared AnimalTube's video.Posted by AnimalTubeShe Was Confused Why Her Fridge Never Had Any Ice. Thank you, thank you, thank you!We are still looking for a great home for Cooper and Sammi, a bonded pair!
Please share this post if you haven't already. These two Goldens deserve the best home where they can stay together. Sammi is a 7 year old high-energy spayed female that loves retrieving and swimming. Cooper is a sweet 3 year old neutered male that loves attention. Both are housebroken and walk well on a leash. We are just waiting for the right person to step up to adopt these two! The ideal hom...e would have no small kids (teens OK), no other dogs (other dogs OK as long as they are given a chance to acclimate) and a fenced yard. These aren't the type of dogs that can be banished to the yard during the day - like typical goldens, they want to be with their people or inside the house while you're gone. They are being fostered in West Seattle. Seattle Golden Retriever RescueWho remembers Tater Tot, the senior Golden at the Seattle Shelter? Here he is in his new home! Thanks to his new owners who took the time to quickly go visit him and adopt him after I posted him.Seattle Golden Retriever RescueHello Golden Lovers!
We are still looking for a great home for Cooper and Sammi, a bonded pair. There has been quite a bit of interest in them, but the perfect match hasn't appeared yet. We realize that it's a big challenge to place two large dogs together but we are doing everything we can to keep these two together, and we're willing to be patient until the right match comes along. To recap, Cooper is a 3 year old male and Sammi is a 7 year old female. Sammi is higher energy, ball crazy, and loves to swim. Cooper is very sweet and is content to sit next to you, waiting for attention. Sammi is unsure of herself around small kids. They would be fine in a home with dog-savvy teens. These are two dogs that have been well taken care of and are used to being inside with their people. Like most Goldens, they wouldn't do well in a situation where they are outside alone during the day. Seattle Golden Retriever RescueGood Evening! Anyone out there able to help a Golden in need tomorrow (Wednesday)? We are looking for someone to transport a 2 year old male Golden from Tacoma (Mary Bridge Hospital) to a West Seattle foster home at around 1:30pm.
