It's hard to describe this place. A cheaply constructed large motel built for what I expect is the tourist trade during the summer. Here, the weekend after Labor Day, it has only 4 guests. Maybe last weekend it was packed, which would justify its existence. Pros: It was clean, or at least someone attempted to have it clean.... This place is a little outdated. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable but the hallway coming in needs some housekeeping. Was conveniently located directly across the street from the ferry to Block Island and weithin walking distance to a few restaurants. I would stay here again! Would be nice if the hot tub was in working oder,... This hotel was a decent hotel with nice rooms and bathrooms.

The beds were not so great and were kind of scratchy. The parking lot right behind is nice but is expensive ($10-15/hr) and there were seagulls everywhere which pooped everywhere and squawked all the time. The best thing about this hotel was the pool. It was a beautiful, warm... The corporation that owns this hotel is without a doubt the slumlords of the hotel industry. For 265.00 a night you can get a room with a harbor view that doesn't exist, the beds are some of the worst I ever slept on and probably purchased on the side of the road. The ceiling was stained, holes in walls, door... Travelers are raving about these Narragansett hotels Hampton Inn South Kingstown - Newport Area I stayed here about 3 years ago and it was nothing special back then. Years ago it was clean but dated, this time it was smelly and absolutely no updates have been made. This place is a dump but yet is $200 a night. The location is great with shops, bars. restaurants, beaches all walking distance and the ferry across...

We chose this hotel only because it was the only one with availability. We were in town for a wedding and needed a place to stay. If we could have asked for a refund and find lodging elsewhere we would have! Room was old and outdated and musty. We were disgusted the minute we entered the parking lot. Totally leaving the birds out of this review but they are pretty disgusting. We were very hesitant as to what we were getting ourselves into as soon as we parked the car and left for Block Island. We actually left BI early in case we needed to figure out a different place to stay. Upon check-in we asked to see... This was our first trip to Rhode Island and we did not really know what to expect. The location was very good, a 3 minute walk to Salty Brine beach, a 4 minute drive to Wheeler State Park Beach and less than 10 minutes to Scarborough Beach. They are all very nice beaches.Everything else is a short drive to nice... Straight out of Alfred Hitchcock, " the Birds"! Seagulls everywhere, , furniture outdated, no lighting at night in swimming pool, horrible no wifi though they advertise it.
