The 40-year-old mother-of-two, married to Ade, 46, a former lieutenant colonel in the British Army, had been walking her dog on a public footpath when it was suddenly set upon in the vicious attack. Distress: Owner Mafalda Clewlow and her King Charles spaniel Spot after the ordeal
The shocking incident, near Ouse Valley golf course, Biddenham in Bedfordshire, only came to an end after two good Samaritans stepped in to help wrench the dogs apart. The owner of the pitbull and his girlfriend handed over fake details after the attack before they fled. However, Mrs Clewlow took pictures of the man, believed to be in his 20s, before he left.Despite being covered in huge bites, vets later managed to save Spot.Last night, Mrs Clewlow, who has spent £566 on vets bills so far, said: ‘It’s horrendous, I felt I was attacked myself. 'Spot has bites all over his body and on his legs. There was blood everywhere. He’s still in agony.’ Terrifying: The pitbull's owner grabs his dog during the prolonged attack After the incident on Friday, Mrs Clewlow, from Biddenham, posted her pictures on Facebook in the hope of tracking down the dog’s owner. By last night her pictures had been shared nearly 5,000 times on the social networking site. She says she has been contacted by people with information about the dog owner which she is passing on to the police.
Bedfordshire Police confirmed the incident had been reported and said officers were taking a statement from Mrs Clewlow today. oil paint, lined canvas 133.8 x 151.7 cm (support, canvas/panel/str external) 152.5 x 171.1 x 7.8 cm (frame, external) Science, Medicine and TechnologyAgriculture and related techniquesAnimal husbandryDogsToy dogs (pets)King Charles Spaniels OM : Millar, O., 1963. Sleeps up to six. No. 227, High Street, Facing south just a 100 yards down from St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile (the oldest street in Edinburgh which connects Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood House) is Flat 1 at Number 227.
This flat (apartment) is in the very centre of old Edinburgh where people have lived since ancient Celtic times. Though the façade was built in 1795 the core of the building dates from the 1500's. Lorraine and Charles Stewart live in the Borders and have this flat as their family holiday home. They have completely renovated it, preserving its old internal layout but thoroughly modernising it, creating a charming and comfortable flat just one floor above street level. Bedrooms are at the back away from the street, but at the front there are three windows with bench seats from which you can enjoy the life of the Royal Mile. All around there are cafés, pubs and restaurants, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Office is right across the street. During the Festival this part of the street is closed to traffic; pipers play, jugglers and fire eaters dance, and musicians and street actors draw crowds of adults and children. The Stewarts also have four other apartments nearby, 35 Cockburn Street and 6 St Giles Street, 87a West Bow and 112 West Bow.
The map at the bottom of the page locates them all. King-size double bed and looks over a courtyard at the back. This bedroom has a shower room/wc en suite. Electric hob/oven, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and microwave oven. There is also a gas central heating boiler. In addition there is a hall area which has a breakfast table and chairs, and an alcove with a desk and pay-phone. This overlooks the Royal Mile with three windows all with built in seating affording an excellent view of the many activities taking place in the street below (as the small plan below shows). The two sofas are covered with Black Watch tartan and one of them converts into a double bed for extra guests.
Fireplace is electric coal-effect. There's also a Television with VCR and a CD player. The dining table accommodates 6 people. Here's a sketch plan to go with the two photographs on the right.
