the only thing I didn't like about this was the top does not raise up instead you lower the bowl. But it works great This just makes baking for me so much easier. Out-of-the-box impressions:I like it and also, having Kitchenaid Mixers for a long time, I can see they cut a few corners. This is my absolute favorite item in my house! Can't imagine my life without it! It is too Noisy This is our second KitchenAid mixer--the first we bought was the low end version, and after a few years, the bowl stopped clicking into place securely. Good and bad - first attempt it ruined my recipe because the metal bowl had some kind of silver coating that came off the bowl into the dough. It is amazing, I got this for making dough for home made chapati/tortillas. Now I can make dough in very less time and with very less things to clean after making dough. My husband bought me an Artisan kitchenAid mixer (max watt 325) from America, we live in Denmark so he also bought an autotranformer (input 220/240v, input 110/120v and max load 500VA with a 5amp fuse.

Initially this seemed to slow the power down, but now every time I have to change the 5amp fuse in the plug!!! This question came from our site for professional and amateur chefs. I just did a successful conversion from kitchenaid 120v to 220v!!! I'm posting this to as many sites as possible as it was a gamble I took and paid off... I'd like more people to know how to save some money by doing a conversion. All you need are three items: the 220/240 V armature (spinning part of the motor), the 220/240V field (stationary part of the motor) and a new phase control board (for the 60Hz to 50Hz).

However, this will only work with certain mixers listed in the links provided below. I used Goodmans to source the parts and the manual to change everything out! You can change the plug as well but I just used a standard US to UK plug adapter. As well, EU regs require an RFI filter - I figured I would just not include that part. Works fine despite not necessarily being compliant. I would've expected the issue to have been the frequency of the signal (50Hz vs. 60Hz) causing the slower speed, as that's something that transformers will not fix ... but it seems someone's already asked the manufacturer, and they claim it's the voltage: Q: Will the US-model KitchenAid mixer work in Europe? A: Yes, they will work. But we do not recommend it. US units are 110V, Europe runs on 220V. This will slow down the unit causing it to overheat. Q: Is it possible to use a converter or transformer? A: That is possible as well, and again, we don’t recommend it. Q: If I take my mixer out of the country, is the warranty still valid?

A: If you take the unit out of the United States, it does void the warranty. Q: Are there any other hazards to using a US-model KitchenAid abroad? A: Hazards include: overheating, possible property damage, and personal injury. The bottom line is we don’t recommend use of the units outside the US…due to the hazards that could arise. If it were me, I'd try to find out if it's posible to swap out the motor with a European one, so I didn't have to replace my mixer (and store one that I couldn't use while I was on travel) ... especially considering the warrenty's already been voided. They might not like you doing that, as there's a mention on that same page that there are differences in 'safety features' between the American & European models (but they never say what the differences are). For power output of a UPS, figure watts are 60% of VA rating, thus you have a 300 watt UPS trying to power a 325 watt piece of equipment. Does this unit convert 50 Hz to 60 Hz?
