I have used the Bona, Shaw, and vinegar and water. Nothing but nothing so far has kept them from getting footprints and streaks on them within an half hour after cleaning. Please if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it if, you would share. By Eva from Beavercreek, OH Answer Flag0I went through the same thing and finally found the answer. I buffed the floor with a towel after washing it and it seemed to be the answer so I bought a home floor buffer. Then I found Thomasville laminate floor cleaner and it didn't leave a film.
I found it in wallmart, but they recently stopped carrying it, so I used bona and sure enough the film is back. I had to order Thomasville on line, but when I use it I don't have to buff. It has taken me more then a year to find the right stuff...Thomasville Laminate floor Cleaner. Good luck Reply Flag0This is a guide about cleaning black rubber marks on laminate flooring. Cleaning your laminate floors is relatively simple. Using a steam mop is an option if done properly. Comment Tip: FlagBy trixsysixsty0Use equal parts water, white vinegar, and rubbing alcohol together in a squirt bottle to clean laminated floors. Use a soft towel or microfiber cloth. The rubbing alcohol will make floor dry quick and not leave a film or spotting. I would not recommend steam mops, they will eventually loosen and lift the flooring, or any excessive amounts of water.

Reply Tip: FlagBy Kim Marie Davis P.0I have had my cleaning business for 14 years working with many different floor types. Floor surface residue build up is a combination of previously used products, yes, but there are many other culprits.
The following is a short list:outside dirt, foot oil, lotions, baby powders, perfumes, room deodorizers, make-up, spray deodorants, hair spray, animal paws, foods, dust, cooking oils, fireplace/gas fire/gas heat/woodstove, plus many more. These things will eventually become part of the "floor surface residue." The safest cleaning method (besides hand cleaning and drying by the sq. ft.) is to mix a drop of Dawn dish detergent with warm water, spray onto a microfiber mop for hardwood (keeping it almost dry) and hand cloth spot clean and dry immediately. Laminate wood floor can be a little more damp, and even more so for linoleum and tile/marble, and cement. The #1 key is to sweep/vacuum "all" the time. If you are looking for, as close to, the brand new, just installed look, after a thorough sweep/vacuum and mopping, perhaps, with a second warm water only mopping with a clean microfiber, get down on your hands and knees with a couple of clean microfiber cloths and rubbing alcohol and clean up dull surface build up (not recommended every time).
A little reminder: life is short, it's just a floor. Comment Question: FlagBy Trudy2What's the best way to clean heavy duty laminated dark cherry flooring? I want to give it a shine with no dullness afterward? By Trudy Answer By lkrice83 Flag0After having Shaw Laminate flooring installed throughout our home and seeing what different "cleaning experts" said how to clean to my floors, I contacted Shaw by email and asked them what to use and how to do the cleaning. The customer service Tech was very nice and said that they suggested...a Shaw product. I explained that I am very chemically sensitive so I can't handle a smell in the cleaner. She was kind enough to ship a small sample bottle along with a cleaning and care sheet which is what she said I should have been given by the Shaw retailer that sold and installed the product. She also gave me the directions on what to use if I could not use their cleaning product. These are a summary of those directions:Never use microfiber like Swiffer, always use 100% cotton mop heads or cotton cloths.
Vacuum without the beater bar, sweep or dust mop with a cotton mop head to get all the dust and dirt up. Then use Bona for laminate floors to clean areas that are dirty. Spray the Bona lightly, then let it sit a couple of seconds, then wipe with the cotton mop or cotton cloth. Polish with the cotton cloths to buff and bring your shine back. Never mop with water and/or any soap product. Do not use vinegar either.Check with the manufacturer of your floor product as to how they want you to clean your floor.
