Non-Profit Seeking Prom Dress Donations The Princess Project is collecting formal dresses that will be donated to underprivileged high school girls to wear to their proms. The San Francisco-based non-profit, Princess Project, is asking women throughout the Bay Area to donate their previously-worn formal dresses to give underprivileged high school girls a chance to feel like princesses at their proms this year.

Dress and accessory donations are being accepted through March 3 at several drop-off locations throughout the Peninsula and the South Bay (see below). The Princess Project provides new and nearly new prom dresses and accessories to high school girls who could otherwise not afford the outfits. Since 2002, more than 18,000 girls have received complimentary prom outfits and accessories through the non-profit's dress giveaway events. "It's so easy to make a huge impact on girls' lives simply by taking on the annual spring cleaning chore," Princess Project publicist Tara Blazona said. In advance of next month's dress giveaway events, the organization is looking for dresses of all lengths, sizes, fabrics and colors. Dresses should be in excellent condition and be dry-cleaned before donation. Shoes are not accepted.
