These "brother" cats do NOT need to be adopted together, but they are more than ready to find their new homes! Voodoo is slightly younger and has a quirky look to him, but he is an outgoing, loving cat who is happy to follow people around and get all the petting. Nismo likes plenty of attention, too, and he gets along great with other pets as long as they acknowledge him as the "Boss Kitty." Voodoo and Nismo are both such handsome cats with big personalities, they are sure to be fantastic cats in the home. Montana used to be someone's beloved pet, but when her family moved, she was abandoned outside.

All three families were exceptionally well-matched to these dogs, and we're already hearing about Bindi playing with her new sisters and Carmen sharing a couch with her new doggie friend. Spooky is a tiny Miniature Pinscher with a big heart! She was found wandering alone in a cemetery. Spooky has an old injury on one of her hind legs, but because surgery would not dramatically affect her quality of life, we have chosen to leave the leg as is. She should not be run to prevent further injury, but she does walk on a leash and prances around the yard.
How To Make Silicone Light Bulbs YoutubeSpooky likes dogs and cats, but due to her size, she would prefer a home without young children.

Buck would love to find an active family who can include him in their daily activities.Strayhaven added 3 new photos.Rutledge is a senior dog who needs a quiet home where he can enjoy his golden days. Before arriving at the shelter, this dog suffered for a long time... unable to see, hear, eat, or walk without pain. After having teeth pulled and a tumor removed, Rutledge was treated for an ear infection and groomed, and he is a new dog! He has regained enough energy to go for walks outside, and even though he cannot see or hear well, he loves to feel the sunshine on his back. Nevertheless, ...he spends most of his day snoozing, so he hopes he has a cozy bed in his new home, too. Despite everything, Rutledge has been a sweetheart with everyone he's met, and he gets along with dogs, cats, and young children. As long as his new family can be patient with his aging body and occasional anxiety, Rutledge is sure to be a joy in the home. Thank you to Sham-Pooch Professional Pet Grooming for grooming Rutledge!

NEW this year is: Rally For Rescue – a fun “navigation course” game for people and their dogs and at 1:45 we will have a “Bark & Paint” at the kids tent. A Pet Memorial Wall will also be a new activity at DukeFest. The Blessing of the Animals will be held at 12:00 and 4:00 and the Muttrimony Celebration at 1:00. Happy Friday and National Dog Day! We are busy bees as usual here at the shelter. Between all of the animals and some shelter improvements, we are beginning to run low on some items.

If you or anyone you know is interested or willing to contribute, we could especially really use some help with the following: *dry dog food (grain free is preferred, but anything helps!) *cat litter (clay or scoopable) *flea/tick/heartworm medicine for dogs (dosage for 20-50 lbs): since we have so many dogs in that weight bracket, we have run dry and only have dosages for small or extra large breeds. *paint/paint supplies: brushes, rollers, and (most importantly) paint. They type we need is Super Spec Urethane Alkyd Gloss Enamel (Aluminum Color). Packard Paint in Greenville has been so generous as to donate two gallons; however, we will need quite a few more gallons. If you would like to help Strayhaven but are unable to donate supplies, please give us a call and arrange a day to paint! We are so very thankful to our volunteers who contribute to us. As many already know, we run on donations, so every hour or item helps tremendously! Have a wonderful day, and stay tuned for some doggy spotlights in lieu of #!
