Suction cup hooks are key when hanging a shower curtain under a sloped ceiling. When a shower is built into an area with a sloped ceiling, hanging a shower curtain so that it won’t bunch up awkwardly, while still arranging it in a way to prevent water from getting out of the enclosure, can be tricky. If your tub or shower ends before the ceiling begins to slope, you can simply install a tension rod between the start of the slope and the opposite wall for the curtain. However, if the area below the slope is open to the shower you will have to attach the curtain to the angled part of the ceiling as well. Measure from the highest point where the rod will be installed to the floor. You will need to purchase a curtain and liner that is at least this long if you want the fabric to pool on the floor or slightly shorter. Measure between the two walls where you plan to install the tension rod as well. This should typically go from the highest point to right where the ceiling begins to slope. Slide shower curtain rings onto the tension rod.
Expand the rod until it is just smaller than the opening. Holding the rod against one wall, expand it until it touches the other wall, tightening it to ensure a snug fit. Measure the sloped part of the ceiling to determine how much of the shower curtain you will need to leave off the tension rod. Buy A Cat Scratching Post SimsFor example, if the sloped part of the ceiling open to the shower is 10 inches, you will need to leave at least 10 inches of curtain loose. Homes For Sale Sharon Ma ZillowAttach your curtain and liner to the rings on the rod, leaving one end loose based on your measurements. Cork Flooring DirectThis will cover the space where the ceiling begins to slope. Attach suction cup hooks at intervals matching the ring holes in the curtain along the ceiling, starting from where the tension rod ends and going down the sloped portion until the last suction cup hook is in line with the edge of opening.
Hook the remaining portion of the shower curtain to the suction cups. Always open the curtain from the end attached to the tension rod, leaving the suction cup end undisturbed. Not worth the money. We bought it, not because it was bendabl3, but because of the length and the fact that it mounTed to the ceiling, giving us the height needed. THIS DOESN'T HANG FROM THE CIELING AS THE PICTURE SHOWS. IT MOUNTS TO THE WALL. The installation does takes some time and effort, but the results were great. Glad I found a solution for my awkward neo angle shower Really nice custom fit curtain rod. BUT be advised that the connectors to attach this to the wall are PLASTIC. I purchased this hoping for a "20 year" curtain rod. The shower rod looks good. The hooks received bad reviews from other buyers and I agree. With a little effort on the manufacturers part this would be a great product, as built it...
We ended up not being able to use this rod because of the way our tile was installed and the shower rod would have to be quite high. the only thing I don't like about this is that it is sent with plastic hooks to run in the rod and hold the shower curtain This is a good rod. I am not giving it 5 stars as you have to nudge it across the break between the two bars. The bendable feature worked as described with the 3 piece design, but every piece of hardware is completely inferior. The plastic clips do not slide well at all. Here are 2 options for you to attach your vinyl curtain or plastic curtain on a sloped wall. The Suction Cup Hook Solution
Step 1 - Obtain a New Shower Curtain A folded shower curtain has a built-in grid to help you measure where to punch new holes to follow the slope of the shower wall. Measure along the new top edge of the shower curtain with paper clips or clamps to place the new holes you will need. If a shower curtain rod has been put up, take it down. Step 2 - Attach Suction Cup Hooks to the Sloped Section Attach 4 or more suction cup hooks to the sloped shower wall section. Check the alignment with the paper clips or clamps on the curtain. Once you are satisfied, punch holes in the curtain and slip the cup hooks through them. Trim any excess shower curtain material. Leave the balance of the curtain straight across the top, and punch 1 new hole below the top line where the curtain meets the vertical shower wall. When you want to close the curtain, put a suction cup hook in line with this hole and slide the curtain hole over the hook. Step 3 - Opening the Curtain to Dry Move the suction cup hook to the ceiling of the shower to get out of the shower and affix the curtain to it so it has airflow and can drip dry in the tub or shower base.
Several companies now produce a curved shower rail that keeps the shower curtain away from you while you are in the shower. These work remarkably well in showers with oddly-shaped side and end walls. Step 1 - Measure Your Shower Area's Length and Depth Measure the shower area to find out its length from the shower head attachment to the end of the tub or stall, as well as its depth from the entrance to the far side wall. Step 2 - Purchase the Shower Rail and Shower Hooks Buy a curved shower rail the total length of the area you measured. Attach it to the far side wall in the corner of the sloped wall and to the shower and faucet wall just inside the tub or shower stall floor. You may need more than the standard dozen hooks and more than 1 curtain, so measure to see what you need. Step 3 - Hang Up the Shower Curtains Attach the hooks to the rail and hang up the shower curtains. Put 1 end hole from each curtain through 1 hook to create an overlapped seam.
