I bought this product in March, and I actually really liked it - it seemed to help with my allergies, and the house smelled less like our dogs. it is getting off and on . something wrong with the wire and the connection is very bad. We have used it very little since it breacks Seems to do the jobIt stopped osolating within a few weeks. I replaced an older similar type air cleaner. This one is quieter. I don't really notice the ionizer giving me that clean ocean air smell that I got from my previous air cleaner so... Did not work right out of the box. I bought this on clearance some place else for 50$ as it was an online return and for some odd reason hadn't sold. I am allergic to cats but I have 4 and my son has allergies. my old model # HHT-145 lasted 8 years running 24/7 until bearing failure, this new model that replaces it is more powerful & quieter. Purchased in November and has given off an oder from the beginning. I will be donating it to Goodwill.Will not purchase another Honeywell. My allergies were bad this year, so I took a chance and bought this air purifier. Want to buy 2 more. For my son and daughter. It's a great filter, easy to use and leaves the room feeling fresh and clean. Oscilate broke within a week. For the price this thing should have been bullet proof. This air purifier does seem to filter the air. It is also fairly quiet if used at one of the first 4 settings.

The not so good. The purifier itself has an Offensive odor. The purified air coming from it smells like cheap plastic. The charcoal filter did not change this odor. In fact nothing changed the odor of the purified air. The unit also emits a certain degree of heat. They probably all do but I thought this should be mentioned. Other reviewers mentioned that the unit would not turn back on if the back was taken off and then put back on. This happened to me when I installed the charcoal filter. The charcoal filter is slightly too thick for the unit and makes it darn near impossible to fasten the back on correctly resulting in a nonfunctional purifier. Finally, each funtion on top lights up if it is in use. During the day this is not noticable. However at night in a bedroom it is very annoying. If you like a dark bedroom you will hate this. Bottom line though, the one thing that is propelling me to return this item is its smell. So if you want clean air that smells clean this is not the unit for you.

I felt the manufacturer should have explained that with the information about the product. The hepa filter does not have to be replaced. It is stated on the box and included with the explanation about the product that there are two filters and it misleads the consumer to believe their both standard. I decided on this product after searching all over the internet and decided on a honeywell air purifier. The features of this are great it has several speed settings and when it's on the highest setting it's a little noisy like a floor fan. All the other settings are fine, it appears to be made very well.

I have been using it for 3 weeks now and have been sleeping alot better. I like the feature that tells you when it's time to clean out the reusable filters, so far I havn't had to do that yet. It really cleans up the air from dust, animal dander, smell, mold, etc... The first day I came home after work all day I could not believe how much different my downstairs smelled. We have an open concept livingroom / kitchen and the rooms smelled much better. I am clean and have no carpets but, I do have 6 cats in the house and a small dog. The place smelled like I just cleaned. I would say it is important to keep the filter system clean. Also, the add says there are not filters to be purchased but, there are. Some you take out and dust and one needs to be replaced every four months. After reading the manual I believe I can only get the small filter and the UV light bulb replacement on-line.

With that being said, I'd still buy this again. It is much better than the old Honeywell clean air machine I purchased 10 years ago. My job purchased two of these air purifiers because everyone at work is sick, due to this major flu outbrust that's currently going on right now. I would say about 10 mins from turning the power on, everyone in the office notice the difference in the air quality. Not only that, there is an Ultra Violet light. Many hospitals use ultra violet lights to finish hospital rooms off after wiping them with disinfectants. Honeywell has a good rep for home appliances and airtreatment. The filtering tower has different levels of cleaning, is relatively quiet and very portable. It also rotates in a wide arc to clean a big area. It also has a timer! If you have kids, pets, COPD, a poor immune system, spend a lot of time inside or live anywhere with allergens, spores, pollen.
