Kileleshwa is also another remarkable place. distance to upper hill is about 15 minutes maximum on a good day. You want to stay away from areas around mombasa road such as south c, south b... they would make a convenient location as the distance to upperhill is almost under 13 minutes.. however the biggest problem affecting those areas is traffic jams...and you can use services search as Free classifieds in Kenya, classified ads in Kenya (For Sale in Kenya, Vehicles in Kenya, Real Estate in Kenya, Community in Kenya,...) to check ot places where you can leave and find out the average price.Written What would you consider to be a reasonable commute? Traffic can be quite bad and sometimes unpredictable so it's a bit hard to say.As mentioned, there are nice houses with gardens in Kilimani & Kileleshwa. Also take a look at Lavington which has many beautiful older houses with often nice, mature gardens.
Karen is definitely a nice green suburb but commute time might be a bit on the long side due to the busy Ngong Road.
