I have fostered and been the assistant director for another rescue for years but am on my own now. All the foster dogs and puppies live in my home with me as well as my adult son and our own dogs. They are part of our family until we find them a family of their own. I do work full-time outside the home, coming home every lunch break to let the dogs out, clean the puppy pen, and give the dogs a treat. I will answer emails and return phone calls as quickly as possible although it will most likely be in the evening. Visits to the dogs and puppies as well as home visits will be arranged evenings and weekends.My unrealized childhood dream was to be a veterinarian. Life happened and now I do my part helping to rescue unwanted, abused, or abandoned dogs and puppies.

I take in owner relinquished dogs/puppies, both locally and out-of-state, as well as rescuing dogs/puppies from the high kill shelters in the South. If you would like to meet the available dogs or puppies, please send me an email or fill out an online application at our website. I will return your email or phone call and we can arrange a time for you to visit. If you would like to be able to adopt when you visit, you must have the application submitted so that the references can be checked, and the home visit done. We don't adopt dogs/puppies out as gifts for a third party. You will need to supply a veterinary reference, if you have previously used a vet, or the vet you plan to use as well as a personal reference (non-familial) who can vouch for your ability to properly care for a dog/puppy.

We will need to do a home visit, the purpose of which is not to judge you, but to determine if your home is safe for the dog you are interested in, and to make suggestions to make your home dog-safe. If you decide to adopt after meeting the dog/puppy, you will need to sign an adoption agreement as well as paperwork required by the NYS Dept of Agriculture and Markets. You will be provided with a copy of all paperwork as well as the dog/puppy's health/medical records. The adoption fee will generally be $250 but may vary from $200-$300. The adoption fee for the individual dog/puppy will be in its listing. Adoption fees help cover not only the costs of that individual animal, but the expenses of the rescue as well. If you are adopting a puppy who has not been spayed or neutered, there will be an additional $50 deposit that will be refunded when the rescue receives a copy of the spay/neuter certificate which must be done around 6 months of age.
