Lauderdale to Savannah - straight through - stopped one time - as soon as we passed the Georgia state line to use the restroom at a very questionable Chik-fil-a. It took us about 7 hours - and that is taking into consideration that they were paving the road and had one lane shut down so we were in bumper to bumper stop & go traffic for about 1 solid hour right before Jacksonville. It's a really boring drive. There is absolutely NOTHING to see. Having said that, I would NOT stop in Daytona - just drive straight through..... leave early in the morning like we did so you'll be past Palm Beach before rush hour and you should arrive in Savannah just in time for a late lunch. We drove up on a Friday, stayed 3 nights, and then returned home on a Monday. Perfect long weekend trip! Shopping and touring on Sundays in Savannah??
